You’re interested in becoming a Freemason – what now?
First, allow us to share with you – we’re excited that are interested in joining the world’s oldest and finest fraternity. Millions of great men before you were made Freemasons throughout history, including many of our country’s founding fathers, leaders of industry and some of the most influential and beloved men of our modern era. That said, it is not necessary for you to be the leader of a small country or run a multi-national corporation to join our ranks.
We are truck drivers, mechanics, teachers, photographers, iron workers, electricians, teachers, salesmen, engineers, lawyers, judges, police officers, firefighters, bankers, realtors… you get the idea. We’re a fraternity of men comprised of all walks of life, of every age from 18 to 88 (maybe even older!). We live where you live. We work where you work. We look forward to welcoming you into our lodge. Please read on for more information on what you need to do next to take the first steps to becoming a Mason.
How to Become a FreemasonTo Be A Mason, Ask A Friend.
Thank you for expressing your interest in Freemasonry by actively seeking out this information. To become a Mason you must meet the qualifications, and be accepted by a Lodge.
The following text will tell you more about the fraternity and the process of becoming a member, but you may find it helpful to print out a copy of the petition for membership for your review.
Qualifications
Freemasonry is proud of its philosophy and practice of “making good men better.” Only individuals believed to be of the finest character are favorably considered for membership. Every applicant must advocate his belief in the existence of a Supreme Being (atheists are not accepted in the Fraternity).
Those Who Seek Membership
Anyone seeking membership in Freemasonry must ask a Masonic friend to recommend him. He must sign a petition stating his age,
occupation, and place of residence. Members of the lodge vote by ballot by casting black or white balls. To be accepted, the ballot must be in favor of the candidate with not more than two black balls being cast by the members.
More About Freemasonry
This briefly explains what Freemasonry is, who Freemasons are, what they believe in, and what they do. It is important for you to know that those who desire membership must seek it on their own. Unfortunately, without this understanding, many qualified men have not enjoyed the special rewards of membership and fellowship in Freemasonry.
If, after reading this you would like to have a representative of the fraternity contact you, please contact us at info@c573.com.
